Adrienne Allebe was born in Inglewood, CA, but spent the majority of her formative years on the central coast. The mesmerizing coastal topography against the backdrop of encroaching development has been Mrs. Allebe’s most constant source of inspiration. Such varied landscapes have served as the basis for her phantasmagorical painted and drawn worlds. In her most recent body of work, she juxtaposes imagery from reality (the natural and constructed landscape) with imagery from her imagination.
Allebe received a BA in Painting from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MFA in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach. After living in Long Beach for four years during her graduate studies, Adrienne moved back to the central coast where she currently works as an artist and teaches drawing, design, color, painting and art appreciation classes at Cuesta College, Allan Hancock College and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
